From One Wonderful Event to Another

From the lack of posts, you would think that I have nothing to talk about and that couldn't be farther from the truth! I've just not sat down and taken the time to record all of the fun times that have been had with in the last few months.
To begin, Super Wy was blessed on February 5, 2012 by Spencer. I was amazed and humbled by all the love and support that was shown to us by family and friend that joined us. It was a great day.

I have enjoyed being home with my boys so much that I decided to make it a full time gig! I struggled with the decision to stay home. Could we afford it? Is it a smart decision? I have had a job pretty much since I was 14. The thought of not working terrified my somewhat, however, with much prayer and discussion between Spencer and myself, we know it is the right decision for our little family. We are going forward with faith!

Carter is growing more and more everyday. He is such a joy and a pain in the butt! His vocabulary has exploded. I am constantly amazed at the things that come out of his mouth. He's such a spunky kid who loves everyone! He loves to say 'hello' to anyone that will listen. He is also very polite when we go out and about. He is quick to give a 'thank you' to the person checking us out... especially if a Diet Coke is involved!

He has a recent obsession with "The Muppets". We have the soundtrack practically memorized. I love singing along with him. He is very vocal and knows the difference between forte and pianissimo. Usually it's FORTE!!!

Wyatt is such a sweet baby. He too is discovering his voice and loves to coo. He is just learning to smile and each one melts my heart. He is a happy little fella and such a good sleeper. He generally wakes me up once during the night to feed.

Spencer is working hard with work and school. He is such a good provider for us. I can't express in words how very grateful I am to have him as my husband. We are working together to lose weight that we both have gained over the last few years. I am happy to spend the rest of my days with my best friend.

Can you believe that my little man is 3 years old today! Where did the time go? The past three years have been the best of my life. Carter brings such joy to our family!

I recently interviewed the lil dude to see what he was loving these days as a reminder for the future. The following are his answers:

St. George Mini Trip

Last week we took a little trip to St. George to see Tuacahn's production of "The Little Mermaid". It was Carter's first experience with live theater and he did great! He loved the show and especially enjoyed clapping and cheering after every song. The show itself was okay. I felt like I blinked and missed the big climax. There was a cool water feature used in the show, but I found it difficult to enjoy because I was paranoid and worried for the actors. I was afraid someone would get hurt.

It was fun to spend quality time with my mom and sisters. We spent the day shopping. Wendy wins the award for the most purchased. Oh to be young and have money...

The morning before we left, I was able to attend a session at the St. George temple with Natalie, Scott and Spencer. It was wonderful to feel the strong Spirit and to be able to share the time with them.

Overall it was a fantastic trip and we hope to be able to do it again next year!

It has occured to me that I have failed to mention our very big news! We are expecting another wee one! We are so excited to be adding to our family.

I realize that this probably isn't very shocking news as most people are already aware, but I felt the need to document it.

Yesterday, we went to my parents house for dinner. All the kids were there and thus craziness ensues. It all started when Carter spilled some juice on his shirt. Not wanting it to stain, I took his shirt off and began to pretreat it.

I had Carter sitting on the counter and Natalie was sitting next to him. All of the sudden she said that she wanted to draw a tatoo on Carter and asked if that was weird. I said no and to go for it...

As you can see it was a natural progression... marker tatooes begat tempory tattoes, which in turn leads to sweeping and shoveling the front walk. Makes perfect sense right?

The Best Moment of Our Trip

This past month, we have had the opportunity to go to Disneyland not once, but twice! At the beginning of the month, Spencer, Carter and I went with my older brother and younger sister. It was so nice and laid back and a great time to travel (if you don't factor in the World Premier of the new Pirates movie).

Then a week later, my mom and sisters decided to go, so Carter and I tagged along. I do believe that Carter would live at 'Small World' if he could.

Carter had such a fantastic time traveling to Disneyland, especially when he got to go with Maggie for part of the time. They are the best buds. If Maggie thought that something was worth while, then naturally Carter was on board.

Church History Museum

Last week, Natalie, Wendy and I took the kids to the Church History Museum. They currently have a children's interactive exhibit that was a lot of fun to play at.

First we went to the basement of the building and saw all sorts of wonderful drawings that children from around the world had drawn showing what they believed in. There was some adorable drawings from kids of all ages. Then we got to 'create' our own drawing. Maggie, Wendy and Carter thought this was a great thing to do!

After we finished our drawing, we headed upstairs. There was so much to do! They had a ship, just like Nephi's with it's own Leahona and you could go fishing off the side of the ship. They also had the 'Gold Plates'.

Carter's favorite spot was the Latin Dance area. He put on the vest and just went to town when the music came on. Soon Maggie and Wendy got in on the action. They were all adorable. We had a lot of fun.

There was also a spot where you could build your kingdom. Building it was fun, but knocking it down was even better!

After we had finished playing at the Museum, we walked to the Gateway for lunch at the California Pizza Kitchen. All in all, it was a wonderful day and I'm glad we got to spend it together! Hopefully we will have all sorts of fun adventures this year!

New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve, we decided to join some of our family and brave the cold to see Zoo Lights at Hogle Zoo. It was FREEZING cold, but so much fun to spend some time with my sister's and parents (Scottie too!). It snowed while we were there and most animals weren't out, but we did see some tigers up close.

Over the last couple of days, we have spent time with Spencer's family. Last night, Will suggested we all go bowling. It was Carter's first time. He LOVED it! He kept cheering to everyone when they took their turn. He was the greatest cheerleader. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed spending time with everyone.

This Christmas season was such a delightful time! A week or so prior to Christmas, our family decided to begin an annual tradition of making gingerbread houses. It was a lot of work, but a good deal of fun. We made quite a mess and had a lot of laughs.

Christmas morning was fantastic! Carter is finally old enough to understand the whole presents concept, but Santa is still a little lost on him. He was particularly excited to get his Elmo slippers and his magnadoodle (cause Maggie had one, so naturally he needed one too!).

After we finished opening gifts at our house, we headed over to my parents for more present opening fun... like 4 more hours of fun! My family rocks! We got some great things. It's amazing to see how well my sister's and mom know me and what to get me.

After my parents house, we headed up to my aunts house to visit with my extended family and grandparents. I love spending time with my family.

The Holiday Season

A few weeks prior to Christmas, we went with Maggie, Natalie and Scott to go and visit Santa Claus. While it was very cold outside, we made the most of it. We held each other close to keep warm, drank hot chocolate and ate cookies.

Carter was a trooper with Santa. He didn't quite understand why he was sitting on the jolly man's lap, but he did it anyway.

To top the night off, we all rode in a horse drawn carriage. It was such a fun night.

Such a Big Occasion

Today we went to the doctor for Carter's two year check up. He is growing... slowly... He is now 21 lbs and 32 in.
He is still in the 1% percentile for his weight and height. He received his booster shots that he was missing. 5 shots is a lot at once! My big boy is a trooper.
The biggest news is shown below... Carter got to pick out his own potty! He saw the Elmo one and just wents nuts. He had to sit in the cart next to it the whole time we were in the store. When we got it home he pushed the box all the way to the bathroom. He is so excited... for the potty... not for what you do in the potty. That task still remains a mystery to him. Oh well, we are starting with baby steps.

Birthday Boy

Can it really be that my sweet baby boy has turned 2?! He has brought such a joy and happiness to our little home. Here are a few tidbits about the BiRtHdAy BoY...

*He only has one volume setting... LOUD!!!
*He knows what a camera is and what you say in order to get your picture taken... CHEESE! He will run up to a camera and smile so you know he feels you should be taking his picture.
*He already knows all of this letters and numbers (up to 13) and can recognize them by sight.
*He has a lot to say and he will tell you all about it. Good luck deciphering what exactly he is telling you.
*If he can't express what he needs to say, he will point and shout 'Look'!
*He has a lot of energy shoved into that little body of his. The kid can keep going and going and going.
*He LOVES to sing and he has a couple songs memorized already.
*Mickey Mouse is a rock star in our house according to him.
* He is very friendly and outgoing. He loves to say hello and bye-bye.
* He knows who Jesus Christ is and that He is his friend.

Carter has been a blessing in our home. Spencer and I are better people because of him. I can't remember how we survived before he joined our lives.

For the longest time, I felt as if I had no creative talents. I would look at the amazing things that my sisters and mother would create and wonder 'why can't I do that'? Recently, my older sister has been sending me links for cute ideas that she has found and it got me thinking. I have been crocheting for about 10 years now and truly love doing it. I have decided to post some of the things I have created.
I love the rush I get when I complete a project and I see someone enjoying the fruits of my labor. I no longer feel as if I hid my 'talent' under a bush.

This summer we have had so much fun. It's a blast to see how Carter has grown and developed from a little baby to a big boy! We've spent so much time with our family. A Nice Saturday

This morning, I dragged Spencer and Carter with me to Walmart. I needed to get stuff for the upcoming festivities. The only way I could get Spencer to get up on a Saturday morning and go to Walmart was to bribe him with McDonald's breakfast. While at Walmart, we found a Buzz and Woody pillow pals. They are just a bit taller than Carter, but he loved them! He would turn to one and 'ask' him a question and then turn to the other and 'ask' him one too. It was adorable.

We made it thru Walmart unscathed and headed to McDonald's. When we got there, Carter seemed to show a real interest in the playplace. Since it was nearly empty, I didn't see a reason not to let him play. He loved it!

After lunch, Carter and I got Wendy and we ran to Old Navy. They had to coolest thing in the kids area! An image was projected on the ground and it was interactive. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, the boy or Wendy! Today was a good day.

Yesterday, Natalie and I took the kids to the Zoo. It was a perfect day to go! The weather totally cooperated and we got to see so many active animals (some a little too active!). The baby elephant was adorable. Maggie and Carter had such a good time. We love spending time with Nat and Miss M. Thanks for such a great time!

Times Square: Day and Night

Last week, Spencer and I celebrated our 4th anniversary in New York City! We flew out on Monday morning. Our hotel was technically located in Queens. We thought that the hotel provided shuttle service from the airport to the hotel, but as it turned out, they discontinued service the week prior to our arrival. They did however, provide a shuttle to the subway station, which was about a mile away for the hotel.
Riding the subway is such a fun adventure! New York really knows how to use public transportation to its fullest potential. The first night we were there, we headed into the city. Our subway line ended at Times Square. We were surprised how 'bright' it was. Every thing is lit up!

We saw the revival of "Promises, Promises", with Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes. It was delightful! I hope they decide to record the soundtrack. Our shuttle from the subway to the hotel stops at 11pm. When we were heading back, it was late and we were delayed because some guy decided he didn't really want to be on the subway, the doors were closed with him in the middle and that delayed us. We called for the shuttle and the shuttle driver had left for the night. We had to walk back to the hotel. In all honesty, it wasn't a bad walk, but I was paranoid that someone was going to jump our from around the corner or something. It was a very industrial area.
We also saw "Memphis". It was about the birth of rock and roll. The music was great!

One afternoon we wandered through Central Park. That place really is huge! We only saw about half of it.
The last night we were there, we decided to see one last show. I read that some shows offer a lottery. You show up a few hours before the show starts and put your name in. They have 20-30 tickets that they will sell for a very discounted rate. When the raffle began, my name was called 4th. Spencer and I won tickets for "Rock of Ages" with Constantine from Americal Idol. We were 4 rows from the stage. It was a great show!

Shopping was so fun! We went to Chinatown twice. I enjoyed haggling with people in order to get the best prices.

We had a wonderful time, but I was so excited to get back home to our baby boy. Natalie and Scott are our heroes! They took Carter for the whole time we were gone. He loves spending time with them.

Recently we took another trip to Disneyland (I know, right?). It is such fun to see how the Lil Man takes to the characters. He is fascinated by them! After we had been there about a day, I started complaining about my ear being sore. When I woke up the morning of the third day, I was in so much pain. My ear canal had swollen shut! What an adventure trying to find a doctor when you are on vacation. Not the kind of way I wanted to spend my trip.
When I finally was able to get in to the doctor, the first thing he asked me was when I had gone swimming last. If you know me, you know I'm not much of a swimmer... Lucky me, I got my first ear infection while in Disneyland! Betcha there aren't many who get to say that.
It's fun to stop every few hours, plop yourself down and have someone put drops in your ear. You get used to the stares...

Enough about me, toward the end of our trip, we were in the park shopping, when one of the cast members approached Carter and began playing with him. This guy was enamoured with the boy! He was having such a good time with him and Carter returned the sentiment. After much giggling and peek-a-booing, he asked us if we had had a chance to meet Mickey. Since we had not, he personally escorted us over to Mickey and Minnie, jumped to the front of the line and allowed us to take pictures with them! I guess it does pay to be adorable!

With Valentines Day upon us, I just wanted to express my love for my two boys.

Spencer and Carter make my day. It is so wonderful to see Spencer interact with Carter. He is such a wonderful father. He is so attentive and patient with Lil C and he is always able to make Carter laugh!

Carter is one of the happiest spirits I know. He is almost always smiling and never fails to bring a smile to my face. He is becoming his own person and I love to see what makes him tick. I love these guys! HAPPY VALENTINES DAY.

Grateful for Good Programming

I often find myself with our televison on in the house. Most of the time, I am just using it for the backround noise it provides. I can't stand to be in silence. Lately, I've noticed that Carter is paying attention to what is on tv. That is why I am grateful for uplifting and educational programs that I can put on and not worry about what Carter sees.

Most recently, we have enjoyed Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney, Hi-5 on Discovery Kids and Sesame Street on Sprout. I am also so very grateful for DVR and On Demand.

Lil C has developed quite a relationship with Mickey Mouse and Elmo. It brings a smile to my face when I hear him laughing as he watches them.

It was such a joy to see Carter while in DisneyWorld. He didn't fully understand all that was going on, but he enjoyed seeing all the characters and all the fun that we were having. He was fascinated with rides such as Small World and Winnie the Pooh.

While we were in Florida, Carter learned some valuable lessons. We now know that when someone says 'yay' it means we clap. He knows that 'so big' or as Woody would say 'reach for the sky' means we put our hands up high in the air. My personal favorite is when he says 'hello' to EVERYONE! Carter is so happy and willing to wave at everyone.

Walt Disney World 2009

I suppose I will be the first to recap our most awesome vacation (technically I am not the first, but Scottie is). For two wonderful weeks, my family lounged and hung out in sunny Florida.
Spencer and I decided to leave a couple of days early with my parents and younger brother and sister. We were flying nonrev and the flight looked to be easier to catch.
Carter was a farely good baby on the flight. Since the flight left and nearly midnight, our plan was to keep him up and let him sleep on the plane. Obviously, he had other plans and the flight must have been far to interesting, because he stayed awake until the we began to decend into JFK airport.

After we had been there for 2 days, the rest of the family joined us. We spent that evening at Downtown Disney just relaxing and shopping. Everyone was excited to be there. We have many many pictures to remember our trip and I will blog more about it, but Carter has awakened from his nap and demands I pay attention to him. Enjoy what I've been able to load so far.

Today is Carter's first birthday! I cannot believe that it has been a whole year since we welcomed him. I am a better person because of him. I love him with all I have and look forward to many many more happy days!

Phoenix and Halloween

Spencer, Carter and I recently had the opportunity to visit family in Phoenix. The weather was so amazingly wonderful! It was a welcome change from the cold snowy Utah weather.

We went out for dinner the first night with everyone and just enjoyed the company. The next day, Spencer and I ran errands (who runs errands on vacation?!). We ended up going to 5 different malls! I'm not sure Utah has that many malls that can be attended in one day. By the time we reached the last mall, Carter was DONE! He was groggy and ready for bed, but like a little trooper, he held it together. I however, must have been tired! I closed the stroller and pinched my fingers. I now have dents in my fingernails as proof.
On Sunday, we went to church and later the park. It was such a fabulous day! Carter loves swings, so that is where we started. He was too small to push very high, so we put Kevin in the seat behind him. While Carter enjoyed every minute, I think Kevin merely tolerated it.

We went to the grassy area to rest for a minute. This is where Carter found that he liked the taste of grass, perhaps a little too well... he ended up gagging on the grass!

We came home to find that it had been snowing. Boo! Luckily, it was very light snow, because I was wearing flip flops.

On Saturday, it was Halloween. For is first costume, Carter was Mickey Mouse. He was soooo cute! His cousin Maggie, was Minnie. We had planned to go to the Galivan Center during the day for fun activities. When we arrived, we were surprised to find that it was deserted! Not a soul in sight! Instead of being depressed or giving up, we decided to go to the Gateway. What a great idea! Most of the stores were giving away candy to the kids. Carter's cousins figured out pretty quickly that if they said Trick or Treat, that they got candy! I was such a delight to watch them.

Overall, such a fun day!

On Labor Day, my friend Holly invited Spencer and I to hike to Elephant Rock in Bountiful. She promised me that it was an easy hike... I now officially never will trust her again! It was a good 7 miles roundtrip! We didn't even make it to the end...

About 10 minutes in, I slipped and twisted my ankle. That was the last I saw of the rest of the group... You know, until they turned around and headed back. We spent over 4 hours hiking, which I supposed for a normal person isn't too bad, but for an outta shape chica like me, I thought I was gonna die!

After bathtime, we dressed Carter and left him in the crib to play for a bit. After a few minutes it got really quiet. I asked Spencer if he had Carter and he told me he was playing. We went to his room and found him like this! How cute is he?

My little guy is now over 9 months old! Eeep! We had his check up yesterday and here's how he's doing...
Weight: 16.25 lbs

Height: 26 inches

He is still in the 1% for his weight and 10% for height. The doctor was a little concerned because Carter is so small, but says he's doing well.
His bottom two teeth should be here any day (according to the doctor, but I've yet to see anything).
Carter is officially a little Rollie Pollie Ollie. He rolls EVERYWHERE! Sometimes I think he's going to go off in a crawl, but at the last second, he rolls over.
The most exciting thing (for me at least) is that Carter finally said MAMA!! I'm pretty sure it was a fluke and won't happen again for a while.

Disneyland Fun

Last week we went with our friends to California. It was a blast! Naturally I waited until the last minute to pack, so Carter decided to help.

Then it was off to the airport. Carter loves the moving sidewalk.

We spent the most of the time at Disneyland. Jeff and Megan had a timeshare that they lent to family and we stayed at the Courtyard.

We took Carter to the beach for the first time. While he LOVED the sand, he did not like the water. I think the waves frightened him.Also, while down there, we celebreated Spencer's birthday! My hubby is officially 29 years old! Happy Birthday Love!!

One of the days we were there, everyone, but Carter and myself went to Sea World. I braved Disneyland with Carter by myself. We had a such a good time. It was totally laid back and enjoyable.

The last day we were there, Spencer and I split between parks. He was going to get a fastpass for Space Mountain and then join up with me in California Adventure. I went into the park and was renting a stroller when Spencer called to inform me that he was denied entrance because it was a blackout day! He and I have the same kind of pass so I couldn't figure out why I got in. I checked with Guest Relations, and sure enough, we were blacked out. I told Spencer to enter the same line I did and I suppose the agent wasn't paying attention, because he got in too!

We spent a few hours in California Adventure and decided to try our luck and getting into Disneyland... It must have been our lucky day, because we got in there too! That or Disney is becoming lax with their policies. Either way, totally awesome!

Nothing New, but a Cute Baby...

Carter is still as adorable as ever. He has finally mastered the art of rolling over. He can go from belly to back and back to belly. He is working on sitting up and getting better at it every day. He is also really good at falling on his face.

He is having trouble staying asleep at night (I knew it was too good to be true!). I think he is wanting to cut his first tooth, but the tooth just isn't ready to appear. He drools all the time, chews on everything he can get his hands on and calms right down when the Oragel is in sight.

He has started eating baby food. He loves carrots, sweet potatoes and squash. He tolerates peas and he does not like green beans, but he'll eat it if he can have one of the others with it.

Our baby is a riot and he makes us so very happy. Here are some recent pictures of him to enjoy!

The past few weeks have been a busy time for the Jacobs family. Carter is now over six months old! He had his check up this past week and here are a few stats on him. He now weighs 13 lbs and 2 oz. He is 24 1/2 inches long. Such an adorable little guy! He is happy as a clam most of the time. He rolls over when it's his idea, if we think of it for him, then he puts his head down.
On the 21st of May, my cousin, Halie got married. She was lovely in her dress. The ceremony was signed with someone interrupting for all of us hearing folk. If you ask Wendy, the best part of the whole thing was the chocolate fountain. I will agree that it was yummy!
Then two days later, Spencer's brother, Ben married Tammy Shen. We welcome her to the family! It was a great day. It rained for a brief period of time, but it cooled the place down nicely. They had a great band and everyone enjoyed dancing the night away!

We have been blessed to have Spencer's whole family together. It had been great seeing Jamie and Troy as well as Nate, Julie and the kids.

The biggest news to report is the birth of Baby X (my name for him... hee hee) Kofoed! Ryan and Bethany had a baby boy on May 29th via emergency C-section. Everyone is doing well. WE are so happy for you guys!

Where Have We Been and What Have We Been Doing?!

I realize that it has been quite some time since we've updated. Never fear, we've just been living our life! Carter is now six months old and as cute as ever! Last week we decided last minute to take a trip to Disneyland. It was as amazing as ever. We decided on Friday that we wanted to go and by Sunday we were on our way!

Carter is a great travel baby. He loves Disneyland and visiting characters (I'm still trying to figure out if he truly is related to me because characters used to scare the heck out of me!) We went to a Meet 'N Greet with Chip and Dale and ended up staying there for over 30 minutes. They loved Carter! Carter was fascinated with them as well.

Also, my lil brother Eric graduated college. CONGRATS!

Ally turned 4. Or as I like to call her Al-Bert-Son.

The most exciting thing that happened today is that Carter learned to laugh at funny things. He had begun to giggle when tickled, but today, he burst out laughing. Sorry the video is kind of grainy, it was on my cell phone.

A Swinging Good Time

Today we decided to go for a family walk around our neighborhood. For those of you who have been to our home, you must realize that there aren't a lot of places to walk. So we headed south/west and walked through parking lots of businesses and condo's. It was such a nice day out and Carter loves to be in his stroller. When we got home, we decided to check out the 'playgroud' at the back of our building. To our delight, there was an infant swing. All I have to say is that Carter LOVED it! He was giggling and smiling the whole time!

Today is our 3rd anniversay! I would like to take a minute to share with everyone what an amazing husband I have.

We met just over six years ago online. We had a mutual friend in common and Spencer took that opportunity to get a complete background on me before even speaking with me. Needless to say he was smitten. On our first date, Spencer wowed me with his ice cream making abilities. C'mon ladies, anyone willing to make you ice cream is worth looking into in my opinion. He was so charming and adorable. I quickly became hooked.

Shortly after we began dating, I made the decision to keep my job and move to Arizona. I didn't know how this was going to affect our relationship, but a few months after I moved, Spencer decided that he didn't want to be away from me, so he up and moved down to Arizona too! At that point, I knew that I had something pretty special.

There were several bumps in our road, but we ultimately became engaged and 10 short months later, we were married.

I am so blessed to have a husband to loves me so much. He makes me happy (and crazy) every single day. I can't imagine life without him. He is such a good provider for Carter and I.

I count myself lucky to call him my eternal companion.

Disneyland Fun!

We recently took a trip to Disneyland. This was Carter's first trip! I was a little wary and not certain how he would handle it. He was a happy trooper! He believes that being on a plane, equals naptime. I'm happy for that! He loved being in the park and with everything to look at, he was so wonderful.

We went with my family. Natalie, Scott and Maggie, Dee, Mom and Wendy joined us on our journey. Maggie was a delight to watch. She became so excited everytime we would stop to see a character. She loved spending time there. It was amazing to see how excited she would get entering the gates at Disneyland. She knows it a special place. She may not understand at first why she's excited, but she knows she should be happy.

We had such a great time! I love spending time with my family, however, I have come to appreciate this time that I have to spend alone as well!

I am so very excited for our upcoming trip we have to DisneyWorld this December!

Baby Boy Update!

This last week, we took Peanut for his four month checkup. Here are a few differences from two months ago and now.

TWO MONTHS OLD:

Weight: 8.45 lbs

Length: 21 inches

Head Circumference: 37 cm

NOW:
Weight: 11 lbs

Length: 24 1/4 inches

Head Circumference: 40 cm

As you can tell, he's still quite a little guy. He dropped back from the 3% to the 1% in weight and length.

He has been working at cutting his first tooth for a while now. Naturally that makes him fussy at times. Hopefully it will break through soon.

He is working on his laughing. It usually turns into a cough though. He's a big smiler though! Especially when he first wakes up in the morning. That is his happiest time for him. He knows that he's about to be changed and fed!

He is sleeping all night and has done so for about a month. He will go to bed at about 8:30pm and will wake up at about 5:15am when I'm getting ready for work. It's been an adjustment going back to work, but we've made it work.

He loves spending time with his cousin Maggie and Aunt Natalie and Uncle Scott. He's always in a good mood when I go to pick him up. He also enjoys seeing Papa and Wendy once a week too.

He isn't so much a fan of tummytime still. We will put him on his belly and get very cranky.

We love our little guy and continually amazed that he is already four months old!

P.S. We're so excited for Disneyland!

Area Codes Craziness

Today, Carter and I braved going to church by ourselves. He was fairly good. Toward the end of Sacrament, Carter pretty much had had enough. We moved to the back of the chapel and I held him so I could listen to the testimonies. About 5 minutes before the end, Carter just started crying. I took him out and buckled him up and waited for church to end. I was determined not to give up.

We got home and he slept for a bit. I fed him and then put him down to play with his toys. He was quiet for some time, so I went to check on him and this is what I found...

This was within two minutes time.

Back to Work

This past week, I ended my maternity leave and had to return back to work. I spent the first day sorting thru the 2,000 emails that had built up over the time I was gone. I would have liked to just delete them all, but the fear that something might be important prevented me from doing that.
I actually had forgotten how to sign into some of the systems that are needed for my job. It was crazy. Between trying to figure out my job again and missing Carter, the day went fairly quick. The next day I sat with someone and listened to them take calls to get reacquainted with the job. Then for the rest of the week, I was on my own. It wasn't that bad, but I couldn't wait to be home with my baby boy!

One Tough Cookie

This week Carter received his first set of shots. He handled them much better than I did! I was a wreck! He got a shot in each leg. They poked him and his eyes got really big and then came the wailing! Both he and I were crying. The nurse had to give me a hug! I'm such a wimp.

Other than that, his appointment went very well. He is now in the 3rd percentile for weight. He currently weighs 8lbs 7 oz. and is 21 inches long. I can't believe my little man is almost two months old!

I've had such a wonderful time staying at home with him. He is so mellow and happy (most of the time). We've got into a great groove... he has been going to bed between 8-9pm and not waking until 4 am. It's been very nice!

CarterMan and I are enjoying all the time we have together. He is such a good baby! He is beginning to focus his attentions on things such as a light. He will also look for me when he hears my voice. I know everyone says this, but motherhood is amazing! I love being a Mommy!

Our favorite time is bathtime. Peanut LOVES it! He can be as cranky as can be, until you put him in the bath. He mellows right out. Totally a product of Spencer and me!

He also enjoys tummy time... I think it's because he's lazy and just goes to sleep instead of working on making his muscles strong...

He is getting to be so big! He has his 2 month check up in a couple of weeks and I know he's going to be at least 7-8 lbs... my baby's as big as an average newborn! hee hee hee

Yesterday, Spencer and I braved the snow and crowds in order to get a little Christmas shopping done, as well as general everyday shopping. We were on our way home, not two miles away, at a stop light, when all of the sudden... BANG! Someone rear ended our car! At this point, the snow had stopped and the roads were dry.
Spencer grabbed his cell phone and dialed 911 while he was checking out the damage. Me on the other hand, jumped out and quickly checked on CarterMan. Naturally he was asleep, but I was still worried, so I called his doctor, who advised us to bring him in immediately. Just in case.
After waiting forever the the police to show up, we were able to leave... Get this, the gentleman who hit us was a World War II vet who couldn't see the paper well enough to fill it out. The cop had to do it. Not only that, but the cop opted to not give him a ticket, just a warning. BAH!
Our doctor confirmed that lil C was just fine, but we had to buy a new car seat. Did you know that Utah State Law required all carseats to be replaced if in any kind of accident? I didn't.
So our quick little shopping trip took us 3 more hours than we planned on. Oh well, no one was hurt (except my car!) and that is a good thing.

2 Weeks Old... or the Day Carter was Due

Today we had Carter's two week check up. Our little guy is doing well... emphasis on the little part. He has lost weight. Currently he weighs in at a whopping 5 lbs 9 oz. We're thinking of letting him box in the heavyweight category. Also, he is a genius. He rolled all the way over while we were at the doctor's office. The nurse couldn't believe it! She was amazed at our little guy, as well she should be! He will go back in six weeks for his two month check up.

Also today is a very special day... My oldest niece Carlee turned nine today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARLEE!! We love you and are so proud of you! Have a great day!!

I Might Even Be a Rock Star!

So I totally stole this idea from Natalie... The bear is as big as him!

So as many of you must have heard, I went into labor early Tuesday morning, and by that evening, we were blessed with the birth of our son Carter Evan. He is such a beautiful spirit and amazing addition to our family.

He was born at 5:57 pm on November 18th. He weighed 5 lbs 15 oz and was 19 inches long. All I can say is that an epidural is almost better than Disneyland. Hee hee hee, just kidding, but totally worth it.

We came home from the hospital yesterday and are focusing all of our attention on lil C. He is needing to be put under lights for his jaundice and he has difficulty eating. Hopefully all of this will be taken care of... Thank you to everyone who visited us in the hospital and who have helped us and given us support. We will continue to post pictures as we take them... gotta love the digital age!

That is the news I've received from my doctor. Of course, I still have 26 days and it is quite likely that I will not deliver early, but I'm MISERABLE! People tell me that the last month is the most difficult and they are not kidding. It seems that everytime I stand up, I get some kind of contraction. I can't sleep or walk... I admit, I've waddled for sometime now.
I'm so excited for our lil peanut to join us, but as I was thinking about it, I really don't think I want him to come early unless it's within the next week or so. I don't really want a Thanksgiving baby, but whenever he decides to arrive we'll go with. My doctor has already advised me that he won't stop labor if it happens.
I don't mean to complain and I'm sorry if you think I'm whining, I just had to get it out of my system. I'm so excited and happy! We'll keep you posted if anything changes!

Fun Family Filled Weekend

This past Friday, my sisters' and I ventured out together to see the 'Witches' at Gardner Village. It was very warm, crowded and busy, but so much fun to see the little girls enjoy themselves and to spend time together. It's growing more difficult for me to walk around as I get closer to my due date, but I won't let it stop me from hanging out with them!

On Saturday, we met together for our family dinner. I find I'm really loving spending time with them... who knew?! The little girls are growing up so fast and I can't wait until our lil peanut can join them!

So funny story....

Spencer and I went yesterday to Target to register for the baby. He picked me up from work and we went right out there. Naturally, that day I decided to wear a cute red shirt and tan pants. I didn't really think that through all the way. Pregnancy has really done a number on my brain... Normally it wouldn't be that bad being dressed like an employee, but then they go an give a a registering gun. They should have just paid me for the time I was there! I was constantly approached throughout the store by people with questions. It was rather comical! That'll teach me!

Truth be told, we won't settle on anything until he is here and we probably won't tell you what we like for a name either. That is something we want to keep a surprise. 30 Weeks and Counting

Yesterday I had my 30 week Dr's appointment. This was the one where I got to take my glucose test. Everybody warned me how yucky the drink is and I just need to get it over with. Either I'm weird (duh) or everyone else is a wackadoo, but I really liked the drink! It kind of tasted of Sprite.

Other than that, I gained 5 more pounds bringing my total to 11. I'm happy, but sad. Happy because despite a week in Disneyland, eating what I want, only 5 pounds is good, but sad because this is the most weight I've gained between appointments.

I'm excited that we are getting so close! I'm really starting to feel it. Especially because I've come down with a head cold and I'm kind of miserable and there is so little I can do about it.

2nd of the month, we had the incredible opportunity to see Maggie sealed to Natalie and Scott for time and eternity. She is such an amazing baby. So happy and full of life! Our entire family has been blessed because of her.
On Sunday the 7th, Maggie was blessed by Scott. It's nice to see the family join together for these events. Also, we were able to meet Maggie's birth mother. She is so nice. I was very impressed with her.
That night, we sent Mom onto California. The next morning, Dee, Wendy and I made the flight. Spencer went a bit later in the morning. Lastly, Natalie, Scott and Maggie made it that evening.

Dee had his birthday while we were there, so we surprised him with dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. Great food and Disney characters walking around. What could be better? Goofy had a great time messing with all of us. It was an awesome time!

Maggie was amazing the entire time. She and I hung out alot while others went on some of the bigger rides. Being pregnant and in Disneyland was a new twist for me, but it didn't really bother me not being able to ride all the thrill rides. I have been experiencing contractions... I think. My stomach would harden up quickly and be uncomfortable for a minute and then go back to being normal.

I totally didn't miss getting soaking wet on Splash Mountain or Grizzly River Rapids. I was the only one not dripping during the afternoon. September is the PERFECT time to travel. It was still warm outside, but the park was slow. We didn't need to get fast passes for any of the rides because the lines were so short. We were always able to get prime spots for the parades with not alot a wait time. Although, I didn't mind sitting and waiting because I got tired very easily.

I can't wait until Spencer and I get to take our little one to Disneyland for the first time.

Finally, yesterday, Wendy and I were able to attend the blessing of Russ and Jenny's baby. Oakley is beautiful. Life is great!

Well it's that time again! The Wilford Stake is putting on another musical and of course we had to be involved! We are doing "The Music Man". My papa is going to be part of the quartet, Wendy is a dancer and head of hair and makeup (wow!). I was cast as pregnant lady 1. Never heard of that particular part? That's because I just made it up to make me sound more important. I fully realize that you can't cast someone who will be 8 1/2 months pregnant at performance time in any substantial role. How crazy/scary would it be if I were to go into labor! That's no bueno...

Nevertheless, we are very excited to be involved. I'll post more information as the time gets closer, but for all of you, here is your heads up! The dates of the show are Nov. 14,15,19,20 and 21. Mark your calenders now!

Pregnancy Woes

So earlier this week I went for my monthly check up. All is well with the baby, however, I don't seem to be faring as well. My body is having a difficult time adjusting and I seem to be in a lot of pain. I find it hard to walk and the back pain is constant. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot that can be done other than taking it easy... BLAH!
One positive note being that over the last 6 months, I've only gained 6 pounds. Yeah me! We'll see how the next three months go... eek!

I just finished the book and all I can say is that it was about 500 pages too long, but props to Stephanie Meyer, because despite that, I still read the entire thing.
